Seventeen Months

Mommy is a little late on this post...you turned seventeen months on July 28th. How time flies!!! Your are FULL of energy and always on the go. Here are a few cute things you are getting into these days:
- You love to snack all day long. You are very good at climbing and picking out whatever looks good to you in the pantry. Thankfully, you are still a fairly good eater for a toddler. You still love all kinds of fresh peas, any kind of chicken or beef, and your favorite foods are still fruit.
- You are obessed with climbing on and off the sofa, chair and ottoman in our great room. I guess you are trying to figure out what all your body will fit into because you love to squeeze into the tinest spaces - you usually get stuck and need someone to rescue you!
- Your Daddy and I get the biggest kick out of your MANY faces. You are so animated and will make the funniest faces when trying to figure something out. I can not wait to hear your comments with those faces as you get older.
- You have learned that saying Please melts our hearts and will get you just about anything - hope you keep up the good manners!!
- One of the funniest things you are doing at the moment is fake crying. If you see or hear a baby crying you scrunch your face up and whine to pretend like you are crying too. It is so cute and words really can not decribe it...I need to video this one!
- You love to pretend to talk on the phone and often times anything you are holding all of the sudden becomes a phone. You throw your arm way back over your shoulder and basically talk into your elbow - the actual phone is usually dangling back behind your head.
- The bugs love you and if you do not have bug spray on, a trip to the mailbox can result in five to six huge itchy bites - OUCH!
- You continue to talk mumbo jumbo all the time, however each day brings one to two new words. The latest are below:
Green bean
Good boy
Eyes
Baby
Blue
That way
Cook
Cheese
Please
This
That
Right There
Belly
Goldfish
Keys
Uh O
Wow
Ready
Water
Ice
I see
Big
Goldfish
Gobble
Bee
- We love you lots and lots and are so blessed to have you in our lives little one!!!

Determined!!!

This is what I found in our pantry this morning. Thomas constantly opens our pantry and often brings me snacks which he wants me to open throughout the day. Looks like he wanted a few bites of cheddar bunnies before oatmeal this morning...but the metal bin was in his way. So he just climbed on in and got what he wanted and then got stuck. He is always into something!!!

What I have found in our trashcan today...
- Bottle drying rack
- Snack cup
- Silver baby cup
- Pack of brand new gum
- Christmas ornament (who knows where this one came from)
- Four tupperware bowls and two lids
- A navy blue croc
- Our remote control
This is the culprit!!!!
In the last couple of days I have found Thomas' old bottle drying rack in the trash can more than a couple times. It is stored in a bottom kitchen drawer which he recently discovered has many cool things in it. He has enjoyed playing in the drawer and taking the electric mixture and all the cookie cutters out. I figured since the drying rack is on top of all this he simply kept putting it back in the trash to get it out of his new play place. However, after my discoveries today I think he simply likes throwing anything away!!! I even saw him twice today picking up tiny pieces of trash from the floor and throwing them away...maybe he is trying to help his momma declutter!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
My mom emailed this to me and it's pretty amazing. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!
It's been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish... all before making a human. He made and provided what we'd need before we were born.
These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We're such slow learners...God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our body! God's Pharmacy! Amazing!
A sliced carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and
radiating lines look just like the human eye... and YES, science
now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of
the eyes.
A tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four
chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.
Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.
A walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.
Kidney beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, bok choy, rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus makingthem weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Avocadoes, eggplant and pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.
Sweet potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries
Oranges, grapefruits, and other citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.
Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

You turned sixteen months on the 28th of last month! Most of the time you are as happy as in the picture above...on this particular day, I had just caught you mopping our hardwood floors with tissue and TOILET water!!!!! Some of the things you enjoy and talk about are:
- You LOVE all animals - especially "Kitty Kitty Kitty" and "Puppy". You spot puppies and kittens in every book and talk about them throughout the day. You even woke up this morning talking about a puppy, so you must dream about them too!
- Your newest phrase (with the pointer finger just a going) is an emphatic "NO WAY." You rarely skip an opportunity to speak your mind, although most of the time it is in some sort of half German and Chinese mumbo jumbo.
- You jibber jabber all day long and I really believe you know exactly what you are saying although I usually have no idea. Your Daddy thought that was what all babies your age did until so many people started commenting on it...and now he is a little afraid that once we can understand you, you may never stop talking!
- Some of your newest words/phrases - daddy, get daddy(when you are chasing or coming for him), momma get (when you are asking me to get something for you), cookie, round (for the wheels on the bus song), Maggie (it is so cute when you say her whole name)
- You are starting to climb everything. The ottoman in the den has been your target this week. You have already fallen off of it 4 times today. You have fallen and received five big and bruised goose eggs on your forehead to date and I am preparing myself for many many more. Thank goodness you have a hard little head.
- We say your prayers together every night and I always say names in the same order. You get the biggest and sweetest smile on your face each time we thank God for Nana, Grandaddy and Uncle Mark...it melts my heart!
- You are a pretty good eater. Lately you have been loving all the fresh zipper and pink eye peas I have cooked from the farmers markets...who would have guessed?
- Each day your little personality comes alive more and more. I can not wait to get to know you even better! I think you are going to be a truly amazing child...I thank God numerous times throughout the day that He entrusted such a precious gift to us. I pray that He gives your Daddy and I the tools we need to raise you to love Him with all your heart and soul...and that one day you will do awesome things for His ultimate glory!!!
