Easter 2009!

What a busy week it has been! It started with lots of egg hunts. We hunted Easter eggs at school, with friends and even with neighbors from our soon to be new neighborhood. Thomas was more interested in the candy inside the eggs than actually hunting for the eggs. He was starting to get the idea by the third hunt that the more eggs you put in your basket, equals more candy...just what we need!!!

The Easter bunny visited us again this year and Thomas enjoyed going through each and every thing in his basket before stopping to play with a few favorites. We even got a decent family photo before we headed off to church to celebrate the amazing truth that HE IS RISEN!

We ended the weekend with great food and family at our house and one tired little boy. Granddaddy is spending the night tonight and will cook up a yummy breakfast before heading out tomorrow. We are so thankful for our wonderful families and for the blessing of being able to celebrate with them.

Happy Easter!!!

PAYNE

We had such a good time playing with our cousin Payne this past weekend. His mommy and daddy took a well deserved break to the beach...three boys in four years ages four, two and four months! Payne and Thomas are ten weeks apart and just like little twins when they are together. We went to the park, played in the driveway and sandbox, ate yummy meals out and watched LOTS of Wiggles...Payne may be even more obsessed with the Wiggles than his cousin! Thomas had a hard time sharing his mommy and his toys but all in all, as these pictures show, they had a great time together. Can't wait for him to come back again!!!

New Best Friend

Meet the newest member of our family, "Orange Juice" or sometimes just referred to as "Orange". We received this little orange goldfish from as a favor from a friend's fourth birthday party...who does that? (Just Kidding Jenny!!!) Thomas loves his new friend, named him the first night and has helped to feed him twice a day since we got him.

A bigger bowl, rocks, distilled water, fish food and $20 later, our friend has a new home. Thomas helped Daddy fix up his new home last night, and was so excited as you can see from the last picture, when he was in his new bowl swimming around.

My question, "How long is this thing gonna stick around?!?!?"

Thomas' 2nd Birthday Party!!!

I finally realized that I would never get around to a long and large post full of all the pictures from Thomas' birthday party...so in an attempt to at least document that we did indeed celebrate our sweet boy, here are a few pics.

The party was a music theme and since he LOVES guitars, the invitations, cake, balloons and party favors all had something to do with a guitar! He also had a special birthday outfit with three smocked guitars, that of course, arrived the day after his party! We started the party out with a short music activity lead by the lady who does a mommy and me class at the art center (which was the venue for the big day) and then had cake and snacks. The kids seemed to enjoy the music and loved playing with all the musical instruments.

I apologize for the lack of pictures but when you add a mommy who is hosting the party and trying to capture the memories on film + a two year old who was going through a no camera phase, it = a big mess and a random bunch of pictures!!! I did get some cute ones of everyone else's children and I will try to email them to you all.

Even though it snowed three plus inches on the big day, we all had a great time and are so thankful to everyone who helped us celebrate!

The only smile I got, mostly hidden by the tambourine!

The cake was delicious too!

Ready for friends!

He loved the party gear his Daddy picked out!

NEW TRIKE!

Thomas' 2nd birthday present was a tricycle, which he adores! We had promised this before the big day and finally purchased it and put it together this weekend. He insisted on buying a helmet like Daddy wears when he goes on bike rides and will not sit on the trike without his "hat" on! I'm loving the push/steer function since we still have not mastered the pedals yet. This is the biggest and best thing at our house since receiving Mary Poppins from his Boo Boo on his B'day.

CHEESE!

Smiles like this captured on camera are so very hard to come by these days! The second picture was Thomas acting like Daddy, who he adores and talks about all day long. He is a little preoccupied with this orange hat and even insisted on wearing it out to eat the other night. He always wears it backwards...and he added the shades today while we played outside in this beautiful weather we are having.

SNOW!!!

What a surprise it was to wake up to such a beautiful snowfall on Sunday, when just the day before we had worn short sleeves and played outside in 70+ degree weather! Thomas did not know quite what to think about the "white ice" that covered the yard. Once outside and very cold, he quickly decided looking at it from the inside was a much better idea! He played with his Daddy and Grandaddy for a while and took a quick ride on the ranger before coming back inside to warm up by the fire.

My mom, dad and aunt were in town for Thomas' Birthday party, which was later that day. My mom and aunt had spent the night with us and my sweet dad had woken up at 4am to leave just in case the weather got too bad...you know they love that 1st grand baby! Thankfully, the party was able to happen and it turned out to be a great success. I know Thomas had a blast and hope everyone else who celebrated with us did too. Thank you to all the sweet families who braved the storm...you helped to make our sweet boy a very happy and celebrated two year old!!!

Birthday pics are coming soon...I promise!
